"We believe that Young children learn best by doing."

Play provides the foundation for academic learning. It also enables children to achieve the key goals of early childhood.

"Play is the work of the young child."

The goal of the curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic learners and encourage them to be active and creative explorers.

We pride ourselves on working with you to achieve the best for your child. Our setting provides a happy, loving and caring environment, encouraging your child to meet his/her own potential. We are totally committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for all children in our nursery. We challenge attitudes and behaviors that conflict with this.
We celebrate the diversity of children's backgrounds, culture, language and experience and make positive use of this in our teaching. Young children learn through play, so our carefully planned play based curriculum, stimulates each child in a way which is developmentally appropriate.

A child's play is equivalent to our work, through play children learn about the world around them, how things work, how to relate to other adults and children and how to succeed in life. A happy child will thrive and develop. We aim to make learning fun, encouraging your child to learn new skills, ideas and concepts daily.

Simba's day nursery provides a comprehensive range of media that will challenge, inspire and delight. Working with these materials also provides an opportunity to develop language and communication skills, fine motor skills, colour and shape perception and other cognitive skills.

Most importantly we acknowledge you the Parent(s) / Carer(s) as your child's primary carers and would like to work with you in caring for and developing your child. we have regular open evenings to enable parents to discuss how their children have settled / are settling into Nursery life and how they are developing academically. We have an open door policy, parents are encouraged to visit and discuss any aspect of their child's development with the relevant members of staff.

Going to nursery is a big step for parent / carer and child so we offer a pre-registration complementary visit where we introduce your child into his or her room and parents are welcome to stay or leave. Most often this only needs to happen once as children are quickly drawn in to joining activities. A wide variety of home cooked food will be provided and individual dietary requirements are catered for.
